وَحَدَّثَنَا الْمَسْعُودِيُّ ، عَنْ جَامِعِ بْنِ شَدَّادٍ ، عَنِ الْأَسْوَدِ بْنِ هِلَالٍ ، قَالَ : قَالَ عَبْدُ اللهِ : " أَلَا إِنَّ الْعَرَّافِينَ كُهَّانُ الْعَجَمِ ، فَمَنْ آمَنَ بِكَاهِنٍ فَقَدْ كَفَرَ بِمَا أُنْزِلَ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " .
2503 \ 2 - وَقَالَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ : حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا الشَّيْبَانِيُّ ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ ، عَنْ جَامِعِ بْنِ شَدَّادٍ بِهِ .
2503 \ 2 - وَقَالَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ : حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا الشَّيْبَانِيُّ ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ ، عَنْ جَامِعِ بْنِ شَدَّادٍ بِهِ .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: "Beware! The tellers of the unseen and astrologers ('arrafun) are in reality the soothsayers of the non-Arabs. So whoever believes a soothsayer's word (that is, accepts it as true) has certainly disbelieved in the revelation and law that was revealed to Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him)."
And through another chain, Imam Abu Bakr transmitted a similar narration through Abu Mu'awiyah, al-Shaybani and Abu Ishaq from Jami' bin Shaddad.
