It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: "Whoever comes to a teller of the unseen ('arraf), a magician or a soothsayer, then asks him (about some matter) and believes what he says, has certainly disbelieved in the religion and law that was revealed to Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him)."
Musnad Abi Ya'la: 2501. The editor Husayn Salim Asad declared the chain of this narration sahih (authentic).
