( وَ ) قَالَ عَبْدٌ : حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ الْحَكَمِ ، ثَنَا أَبِي ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُمَا قَالَ : جَاءَ رَجُلٌ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَمَعَهُ وَلَدٌ لَهُ ، فَقَالَ ( لَهُ ) : يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ ، إِنِّي أُرِيدُ أَنْ تَشْهَدَ بِصَدَقَةٍ أَتَصَدَّقُ بِهَا عَلَى ابْنِي هَذَا . فَقَالَ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : أَلَكَ وَلَدٌ غَيْرُهُ ؟ قَالَ : نَعَمْ . قَالَ : فَأَعْطَيْتَهُ مِثْلَ هَذَا ؟ قَالَ : لَا . قَالَ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : فَلَا أَشْهَدُ .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that a man came to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), and his son was with him. He said: "O Messenger of Allah, I would like you to be a witness to this charity of mine which I am giving to this son of mine." The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) asked: "Do you have other children besides him?" He replied: "Yes." He (peace and blessings be upon him) asked: "Then have you given the other children the same share as well?" He said: "No." Then the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Then I cannot be a witness to it."
