قَالَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ : حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللهِ بْنُ مُوسَى ، ثَنَا إِسْرَائِيلُ ، عَنْ زِيَادٍ الْمُصَفِّرِ ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ ، حَدَّثَنِي ثَابِتُ بْنُ رُفَيْعٍ ، وَكَانَ يُؤَمَّرُ عَلَى السَّرَايَا ، سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ : إِيَّاكُمْ وَالْغُلُولَ : الرَّجُلُ يَنْكِحُ الْمَرْأَةَ قَبْلَ أَنْ يَقْسِمَ ثُمَّ يَرُدُّهَا إِلَى الْقَسْمِ ، أَوْ يَلْبَسُ الثَّوْبَ حَتَّى يَخْلَقَ ثُمَّ يَرُدُّهُ إِلَى الْقَسْمِ .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Thabit bin Rufay' (may Allah be pleased with him), who used to be appointed commander over various military expeditions, that he said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "Beware of misappropriating the spoils of war (ghulul); (for example,) a man has intercourse with a woman (a captive) before the distribution and then returns her to the distribution, or he wears a garment (for so long) that it becomes worn out and then returns it to the distribution."
