وَقَالَ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مَنِيعٍ : حَدَّثَنَا كَثِيرُ بْنُ هِشَامٍ ، عَنْ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ عَطَاءٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ جَدِّهِ قَالَ : قَالَ الْعَبَّاسُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْمُطَّلِبِ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ : سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ : عَيْنَانِ لَا تَمَسُّهُمَا النَّارُ : عَيْنٌ فَاضَتْ مِنْ خَشْيَةِ اللهِ ، وَعَيْنٌ بَاتَتْ تَحْرُسُ فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna al-Abbas bin Abd al-Muttalib (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "There are two eyes which the Fire (of Hell) will never touch: an eye which shed tears out of the fear of Allah, and an eye which spent the night awake (standing guard) in the path of Allah."
