قَالَ إِسْحَاقُ : أَخْبَرَنَا بَقِيَّةُ بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ ، حَدَّثَنِي الْوَضِينُ بْنُ عَطَاءٍ ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ مَرْثَدٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ عَوْفٍ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مِثْلَهُ - يَعْنِي حَدِيثًا قَبْلَهُ - لَفْظُهُ : مَا أَجِدُ لَهُ فِي الدُّنْيَا وَالْآخِرَةِ مِنْ غَزْوَتِهِ غَيْرَ هَذِهِ الدَّنَانِيرِ الَّتِي جُعِلَتْ لَهُ ، قَالَهُ لِيَعْلَى بْنِ مُنَبِّهٍ فِي قِصَّةِ أَجِيرٍ لَهُ .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abd al-Rahman bin Awf (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) narrated the like of it (like the previous hadith), the wording of which is: "I do not find for this man, in this world or the Hereafter, any recompense for his expedition other than these few dinars that were fixed for him." He (peace and blessings be upon him) said this concerning the story of a hired worker (ajir) of Sayyiduna Ya'la bin Munabbih (may Allah be pleased with him).
