وَقَالَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ : حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ نُمَيْرٍ ، عَنْ بَدْرِ بْنِ عُثْمَانَ ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ حَفْصٍ ، عَنْ عِمْرَانَ بْنِ سَعْدٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ سَعْدٍ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ ، عَنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : يُسْتَشْهَدُونَ بِالْقَتْلِ وَالطَّعْنِ وَالْغَرَقِ وَالْبَطْنِ وَمَوْتِ الْمَرْأَةِ جَمْعًا ، وَمَوْتِهَا فِي نِفَاسِهَا .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Sa'd (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The ways in which people are granted the rank of martyrdom are these: being killed in the path of Allah, falling victim to plague (or spear-thrusts), drowning in water, dying of some disease of the belly (such as dropsy), and the woman who dies while pregnant or who dies during the days of her childbirth (nifas)."
