وَقَالَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ : حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ ، عَنْ زِيَادِ بْنِ عِلَاقَةَ ، عَنْ رَجُلٍ ، عَنْ جَرِيرٍ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : فَنَاءُ أُمَّتِي بِالطَّعْنِ وَالطَّاعُونِ . قَالُوا : يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ ، هَذَا الطَّعْنُ قَدْ عَرَفْنَاهُ ، فَمَا الطَّاعُونُ ؟ قَالَ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : وَخْزُ أَعْدَائِكُمْ مِنَ الْجِنِّ وَكُلٌّ فِيهِ شُهَدَاءُ .
قُلْتُ : الْمَشْهُورُ بِهَذَا الْإِسْنَادِ عَنْ زِيَادٍ ، عَنْ رَجُلٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي مُوسَى رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ .
قُلْتُ : الْمَشْهُورُ بِهَذَا الْإِسْنَادِ عَنْ زِيَادٍ ، عَنْ رَجُلٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي مُوسَى رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jarir (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The destruction of my Ummah will be through spear-thrusts (fighting) and plague." The Companions (may Allah be pleased with them) said: "O Messenger of Allah, we know what spear-thrusts are, but what is this plague?" He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "It is the pricking (harm) of your enemies from among the jinn, and those who die in either case are martyrs."
I (the author) say: This chain, through Ziyad from an unnamed man, is better known as being from Sayyiduna Abu Musa al-Ash'ari (may Allah be pleased with him).
