قَالَ الْحَارِثُ : حَدَّثَنَا الْخَلِيلُ بْنُ زَكَرِيَّا ، ثَنَا عَوْفٌ ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : شَارِبُ الْخَمْرِ كَعَابِدِ الْوَثَنِ ، وَشَارِبُ الْخَمْرِ كَعَابِدِ اللَّاتِ وَالْعُزَّى .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The one who drinks wine is like a worshipper of an idol, and the one who drinks wine is like one who worships al-Lat and al-Uzza (the idols of the polytheists)."
