إِسْحَاقُ : أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ ، أَنَا مَعْمَرٌ ، عَنْ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ بُرْقَانَ ، عَنْ مَيْمُونِ بْنِ مِهْرَانَ ، قَالَ : سَأَلْتُ سَعِيدَ بْنَ الْمُسَيِّبِ عَنِ الْمُطَلَّقَةِ ثَلَاثًا ، أَيْنَ تَسْتَعِدُّ ؟ فَقَالَ : فِي بَيْتِ زَوْجِهَا ، فَقُلْتُ لَهُ : فَأَيْنَ حَدِيثُ فَاطِمَةَ بِنْتِ قَيْسٍ ؟ قَالَ : تِلْكَ امْرَأَةٌ فَتَنَتِ النَّاسَ ، كَانَتْ لَسِنَةً . أَوْ قَالَ : كَانَتِ امْرَأَةً فِي لِسَانِهَا شَرٌّ عَلَى أَحْمَائِهَا .
1689 \ 2 - أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ ، ثَنَا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ ، أَخْبَرَنِي مَيْمُونُ بْنُ مِهْرَانَ ، قَالَ : ذَاكَرْتُ سَعِيدَ بْنَ الْمُسَيِّبِ ، فَذَكَرَ نَحْوَ الْأَوَّلِ.
1689 \ 3 - أَخْبَرَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، ثَنَا جَعْفَرُ بْنُ بُرْقَانَ ، عَنْ مَيْمُونِ بْنِ مِهْرَانَ ، قَالَ : أَتَيْتُ الْمَدِينَةَ فَسَأَلْتُ عَنْ أَفْقَهِ أَهْلِهَا ، فَدُفِعْتُ إِلَى سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيِّبِ ، فَسَأَلْتُهُ عَنِ الْمُطَلَّقَةِ ثَلَاثًا أَيْنَ تَسْتَعِدُّ ؟ فَقَالَ : فِي بَيْتِ زَوْجِهَا ، قُلْتُ : " فَإِنَّ فَاطِمَةَ بِنْتَ قَيْسٍ أُخْتَ الضَّحَّاكِ بْنِ قَيْسٍ طَلَّقَهَا زَوْجُهَا ثَلَاثًا ، فَاعْتَدَّتْ فِي بَيْتِ ابْنِ أُمِّ مَكْتُومٍ " . فَقَالَ : " تِلْكَ امْرَأَةٌ لَسِنَةٌ ".

1689 \ 3 - أَخْبَرَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، ثَنَا جَعْفَرُ بْنُ بُرْقَانَ ، عَنْ مَيْمُونِ بْنِ مِهْرَانَ ، قَالَ : أَتَيْتُ الْمَدِينَةَ فَسَأَلْتُ عَنْ أَفْقَهِ أَهْلِهَا ، فَدُفِعْتُ إِلَى سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيِّبِ ، فَسَأَلْتُهُ عَنِ الْمُطَلَّقَةِ ثَلَاثًا أَيْنَ تَسْتَعِدُّ ؟ فَقَالَ : فِي بَيْتِ زَوْجِهَا ، قُلْتُ : " فَإِنَّ فَاطِمَةَ بِنْتَ قَيْسٍ أُخْتَ الضَّحَّاكِ بْنِ قَيْسٍ طَلَّقَهَا زَوْجُهَا ثَلَاثًا ، فَاعْتَدَّتْ فِي بَيْتِ ابْنِ أُمِّ مَكْتُومٍ " . فَقَالَ : " تِلْكَ امْرَأَةٌ لَسِنَةٌ ".
It is narrated from Maymun bin Mihran (may Allah have mercy on him): I asked the eminent Successor Sa'id bin al-Musayyib (may Allah have mercy on him) about a divorced woman who has been given three divorces: where should she spend her waiting period ('iddah)? He replied: "She should spend her waiting period in her husband's house." I said to him: Then what becomes of the hadith of Fatimah bint Qays (may Allah be pleased with her) (in which it is mentioned that she spent her waiting period elsewhere)? He said: "She was a woman who put people into confusion (in this matter); she was very sharp-tongued," or he said: "Because of the sharpness of her tongue, she was a source of trouble to her in-laws."
Imam Abd al-Razzaq narrated through Ibn Jurayj from Maymun bin Mihran that he held a scholarly discussion with Sa'id bin al-Musayyib on this issue, and he mentioned the like of the first narration.
Maymun bin Mihran (may Allah have mercy on him) relates: I came to Madinah and asked about the greatest jurist there, and I was directed to Sa'id bin al-Musayyib (may Allah have mercy on him). I asked him: Where should a woman who has received three divorces spend her waiting period? He said: "In her husband's house." I said: When Fatimah bint Qays (may Allah be pleased with her), the sister of al-Dahhak bin Qays, was divorced three times by her husband, she spent her waiting period in the house of Ibn Umm Maktum (may Allah be pleased with him). At this Sa'id bin al-Musayyib (may Allah have mercy on him) said: "She was a sharp-tongued woman (and for that reason she was permitted to move from there)."
