It is narrated from Sayyiduna Tariq bin Abdullah al-Muharibi (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: I saw the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) twice; then he mentioned the whole hadith. He said: We set out from al-Rabadhah in a caravan until we halted near Madinah, and with us was a woman of ours in a howdah. He said: While we were sitting, a man came to us wearing two white garments. He greeted us with salam and we returned his greeting, and he asked: "Where have these people come from?" We said: "From al-Rabadhah and the area south of al-Rabadhah." He said: And we had a red camel with us. The man asked: "Will you sell me this camel?" We said: "Yes." He asked: "For how much?" We said: "For such and such sa's of dates." He said: He did not ask us to reduce the price at all, and said: "I have taken it." Then he took hold of the camel's head until he entered Madinah and disappeared from our sight. So we began to blame one another and said: "You gave your camel to a man you do not even know!" The woman in the howdah said: "Do not blame yourselves, for I saw a face that would not betray you; I have never seen a man whose face more resembled the moon on the night it is full." Then, when it was the time of Isha, a man came and said: "Peace be upon you. I am the messenger of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) to you, and he (peace and blessings be upon him) commands you to eat until you are full, and to measure out until you have received your due in full." So we ate until we were full, and we measured out until we had received our due in full. Then, when the next day came, we entered Madinah, and there was the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) standing on the pulpit, delivering a sermon to the people. And Abu Ya'la said: Zakariyya bin Yahya al-Wasiti narrated to us; Sinan bin Harun, the brother of Sayf, narrated to us from Yazid bin Ziyad bin Abi al-Ja'd; Abu Sakhrah narrated to me, saying: A man from among us called Tariq said: I saw the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) twice. Once I saw him (peace and blessings be upon him) in the market of Dhu al-Majaz while he (peace and blessings be upon him) was on a mount, and the tendons of his legs (his heels) were bloodied; then he mentioned the whole hadith. He said: Then after that we came and stayed in Madinah, and a man came out to us and asked: "Where have you come from?" We said: "From al-Rabadhah or its surroundings." He asked: "Do you have anything you want to sell?" We said: "Yes, this camel." He asked: "For how much?" We said: "For such and such wasqs of dates." So he took hold of its halter and began pulling it, then entered Madinah with it. I said: "What have we done? We have sold our camel to a man we do not even know!" The narrator said: And with us, at one side of the tent, was a woman in a howdah, and she said: "I guarantee the price of the camel. I have certainly seen the face of a man like the moon on the night it is full; he will never break his word to you." When morning came, a man arrived with dates and said: "I am the messenger of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) to you, (to tell you) to eat of these dates until you are full, and to measure out until you have received your due in full." The narrator said: So we did that.
