قَالَ ابْنُ أَبِي عُمَرَ : حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ ، أَنَا مَعْمَرٌ ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدٍ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ - رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهَا - قَالَتْ : دَخَلَ عَلَيَّ النَّبِيُّ - صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - يَوْمًا ، فَقَالَ : لَقَدْ صَنَعْتُ الْيَوْمَ شَيْئًا وَدِدْتُ أَنِّي لَمْ أَصْنَعْهُ ، دَخَلْتُ الْبَيْتَ ، فَأَخْشَى أَنْ يَجِيءَ رَجُلٌ مِنْ أُفُقٍ مِنَ الْآفَاقِ فَلَا يَسْتَطِيعُ دُخُولَهُ ، فَيَرْجِعُ وَفِي نَفْسِهِ مِنْهُ شَيْءٌ .
It is narrated from Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) that she said: One day the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) came to me and said: "Today I have done something which I wish I had not done: I entered the House (the Ka'bah). I fear that a man may come from some distant corner of the world and be unable to enter it, and then return with some distress or grief in his heart because of it (being deprived)."
