وَقَالَ مُسَدَّدٌ : حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى ، عَنْ هِشَامٍ ، عَنْ حَفْصَةَ قَالَتْ : أَهْلَلْنَا بِعُمْرَةٍ فِي رَمَضَانَ ، فَقَدِمْنَا مَكَّةَ فِي شَوَّالٍ وَالنَّاسُ يَوْمَئِذٍ مُتَوَافِرُونَ ، فَسَأَلْنَا ، فَمَا سَأَلْنَا أَحَدًا إِلَّا قَالَ : هِيَ مُتْعَةٌ .
It is narrated from Hafsah (may Allah have mercy on her) that she stated: We entered ihram for Umrah in the blessed month of Ramadan, and then we reached Makkah in the month of Shawwal, while in those days there was a great crowd of people there. So we asked (about the legal nature of this act of worship of ours), and whomever we asked, he said that it is "Hajj al-Tamattu'".
