قَالَ مُسَدَّدٌ : حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ زُرَيْعٍ ، ثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ قَالَ : إِنَّ الْحَسَنَ حَدَّثَهُمْ ، أَنَّ عِمْرَانَ بْنَ حُصَيْنٍ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ ، أَرَاهُ قَالَ : يَعْنِي أَحْرَمَ مِنَ الْبَصْرَةِ ، فَلَمَّا قَدِمَ عَلَى عُمَرَ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ وَكَانَ قَدْ بَلَغَهُ ذَلِكَ ، فَأَغْلَظَ لَهُ ، وَقَالَ : يَتَحَدَّثُ النَّاسُ أَنَّ رَجُلًا مِنْ أَصْحَابِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَحْرَمَ مِنْ مِصْرٍ مِنَ الْأَمْصَارِ .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Imran bin Husayn (may Allah be pleased with him) that he entered ihram from Basrah; the narrator said: I think that he entered ihram right from there. Then, when he came into the presence of Sayyiduna Umar al-Faruq (may Allah be pleased with him), the news had already reached him, so he expressed strong displeasure with him and said: "People are whispering that one of the Companions of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) entered ihram from one of the ordinary cities (that is, he did not wait to reach the miqat)."
