قَالَ أَبُو يَعْلَى : حَدَّثَنَا حَفْصُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحُلْوَانِيُّ ، ثَنَا ابْنُ الْمُبَارَكِ ، عَنْ أَبِي بَكْرِ بْنِ أَبِي مَرْيَمَ ، عَنْ حَبِيبِ بْنِ عُبَيْدٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي الدَّرْدَاءِ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : لِكُلِّ شَيْءٍ بَابٌ ، وَبَابُ الْعِبَادَةِ الصِّيَامُ .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu al-Darda' (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Everything has a door, and the door of worship is fasting."
