عَنْ مُعَاذِ بْنِ جَبَلٍ قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - : " اسْتَعِينُوا عَلَى قَضَاءِ حَوَائِجِكُمْ بِالْكِتْمَانِ ، فَإِنَّ كُلَّ ذِي نِعْمَةٍ مَحْسُودٌ " . رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الثَّلَاثَةِ ، وَفِيهِ سَعِيدُ بْنُ سَلَامٍ الْعَطَّارُ ، قَالَ الْعِجْلِيُّ : لَا بَأْسَ بِهِ ، وَكَذَّبَهُ أَحْمَدُ وَغَيْرُهُ ، وَبَقِيَّةُ رِجَالِهِ ثِقَاتٌ ، إِلَّا أَنَّ خَالِدَ بْنَ مَعْدَانَ لَمْ يَسْمَعْ مِنْ مُعَاذٍ .
Sayyiduna Mu'adh bin Jabal (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Seek help in getting your needs fulfilled by keeping them concealed, for everyone who has a blessing is envied."
Al-Tabarani recorded it in all three of his books; its chain contains Sa'id bin Sallam al-Attar. Al-Ijli said: there is no harm in him, while Imam Ahmad and others declared him a liar. The remaining narrators of this report are thiqat (trustworthy), except that the narrator Khalid bin Ma'dan did not hear from Sayyiduna Mu'adh (may Allah be pleased with him).

وَعَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - : " إِنَّ لَأَهِلِ النِّعَمِ حُسَّادًا فَاحْذَرُوهُمْ " . رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْأَوْسَطِ ، وَفِيهِ إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو الْبَجَلِيُّ ، وَهُوَ ضَعِيفٌ وَقَدْ وَثَّقَهُ ابْنُ حِبَّانَ .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas also narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "People of blessings have envious ones, so beware of them (the envious)!"
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat; its chain contains Isma'il bin Amr al-Bajali, who is da'if (weak), though Ibn Hibban declared him thiqah (trustworthy).
