عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - اسْتَعْمَلَ سِبَاعَ بْنَ عُرْفُطَةَ عَلَى الْمَدِينَةِ فَقَرَأَ وَيْلٌ لِلْمُطَفِّفِينَ فَقُلْتُ : هَلَكَ فَلَانٌ لَهُ صَاعَانِ ، صَاعٌ يُعْطِي بِهِ وَصَاعٌ يَأْخُذُ بِهِ . رَوَاهُ الْبَزَّارُ ، وَرِجَالُهُ رِجَالُ الصَّحِيحِ غَيْرَ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ مَسْعُودٍ الْجَحْدَرِيِّ وَهُوَ ثِقَةٌ .
Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) appointed Siba' bin Urfutah as governor over Madinah, and he recited this verse: "Woe to those who give short measure." I thought: "Such-and-such a person is ruined, for he keeps two particular measures: he gives by one and takes by the other."
Al-Bazzar recorded it, and its narrators are the narrators of the Sahih, except Isma'il bin Mas'ud al-Jahdari, and he is thiqah (trustworthy).

وَعَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ - يَعْنِي ابْنَ مَسْعُودٍ - قَالَ : وَيْلٌ : وَادٍ فِي جَهَنَّمَ مِنْ قَيْحٍ . رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ ، وَفِيهِ يَحْيَى الْحِمَّانِيُّ وَهُوَ ضَعِيفٌ .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) says: "'Wayl' is a valley of pus in Hell."
