Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever sets out for Hajj and dies, the reward of one performing Hajj will continue to be given to him until the Day of Resurrection. Whoever sets out to perform Umrah and dies, the reward of performing Umrah will continue to be given to him. Whoever sets out to take part in fighting and dies, the reward of one who takes part in fighting will continue to be recorded for him until the Day of Resurrection."
Abu Ya'la recorded it. Its chain contains a narrator, Ibn Ishaq, who is a mudallis (one who conceals defects in the chain). The rest of its narrators are thiqat (trustworthy).
