Sa'd bin Ibrahim bin Abd al-Rahman bin Awf said: I was sitting with Humayd bin Abd al-Rahman when a handsome elderly man from Banu Ghifar passed by, whose hearing was weak. Humayd sent for him, and when he came, he said: "My nephew! Make room for him and for me, for he is a Companion of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him)." That gentleman came and sat between me and Humayd. Humayd said to him: "Narrate to me a hadith that you narrate to me from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him)." The elderly man said: I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "Indeed, Allah Almighty creates the cloud, and it speaks with the finest speech and laughs in the finest way."
Ahmad recorded it, and its narrators are the narrators of the Sahih.

Sabrah bin Ma'bad said: The Companions of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) saw a cloud and said: "O Messenger of Allah! We hope that rain will fall upon us from this cloud." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "It has been commanded to rain upon 'Bulayl'." The narrator said: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) meant a valley whose name was "Bulayl".
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir, and its narrators have been declared trustworthy.

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whenever the wind blowing from the south stirs in a hollow (that is, a low part) of a valley, it fills it with water."
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir; its chain contains al-Fadl bin Ata', and I did not find anyone who has given an account of him.

Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) said: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When a wind rises from the direction of the sea (that is, west of Madinah) and then moves toward Syria (that is, north of Madinah), it will bring abundant rain."
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat and said: "Al-Waqidi is alone in narrating it." I say: There is criticism of al-Waqidi, and more than one scholar declared him thiqah (trustworthy). There is no harm in the remaining narrators of this report, and they have been declared trustworthy. And Allah knows best.
