Sayyiduna Uthman al-Ghani (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Allah Almighty has one hundred and sixteen (prescribed, or beloved) traits of character; whoever acts upon any one of them will enter Paradise."
Abu Ya'la recorded it in "al-Musnad al-Kabir." In another report the words are: "There are one hundred and seventeen traits of character." Its chain contains a narrator, Abdullah bin Rashid, who is da'if (weak). Al-Bazzar recorded this report by way of Abdullah bin Rashid with these words: "one hundred and seventeen laws (shari'ahs)."
