Majma al-Zawaid — Hadith 9484

Sayyiduna Abu Umamah (may Allah be pleased with him) reports that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "There is no man whose face becomes dusty in the path of Allah but Allah Almighty will protect him from the smoke of Hell on the Day of Resurrection; and there is no man whose feet become dusty in the path of Allah but Allah Almighty will protect his feet from Hell on the Day of Resurrection."
Al-Tabarani recorded it; its chain contains Jumay' bin Thawb (read with a fatha, and according to one view with a damma), and this narrator is matruk (abandoned).
