Majma al-Zawaid — Hadith 9432

Sayyiduna Abu Umamah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Every nation has its own form of wandering devotion (siyahah), and the wandering devotion of my Ummah is jihad in the way of Allah. Every nation has its own monasticism, and the monasticism of my Ummah is standing guard (ribat) facing the enemy."
Al-Tabarani recorded it; its chain contains a narrator, Ufayr bin Ma'dan, who is da'if (weak).
