وَعَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ حَاطِبٍ قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - : " إِذَا حُرِمَ أَحَدُكُمُ الزَّوْجَةَ وَالْوَلَدَ فَعَلَيْهِ بِالْجِهَادِ " .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ وَفِيهِ مُوسَى بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ حَاطِبٍ وَلَمْ أَعْرِفْهُ ، وَبَقِيَّةُ رِجَالِهِ ثِقَاتٌ .

Sayyiduna Muhammad bin Hatib (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When any of you is deprived of a wife and children, then jihad is incumbent upon him."
Al-Tabarani recorded it. Its chain contains a narrator, Musa bin Muhammad bin Hatib, whom I do not know; the rest of its narrators are thiqat (trustworthy).
