وَعَنْ عُتْبَةَ بْنِ عَبْدٍ قَالَ : كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - يَأْمُرُ بِتَغْيِيرِ الشَّعْرِ مُخَالَفَةً لِلْأَعَاجِمِ .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ ، وَفِيهِ الْأَحْوَصُ بْنُ حَكِيمٍ ، وَهُوَ ضَعِيفٌ وَقَدْ وُثِّقَ .

Sayyiduna Utbah bin Abd (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to order the changing of the colour of the hair, so as to differ from the non-Arabs.
Al-Tabarani recorded it. Its chain contains a narrator, al-Ahwas bin Hakim, who is da'if (weak), though he has been declared trustworthy.
