Sayyidah Aishah Siddiqah (may Allah be pleased with her) said: One of the sons of Sayyiduna Ja'far bin Abi Talib (may Allah be pleased with him) came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: "O Messenger of Allah, may my father and mother be sacrificed for you! Send someone with me to buy me sandals and a ring." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) called Sayyiduna Bilal (may Allah be pleased with him) and said: "Go to the market and buy him sandals; buy new ones, and they should not be black. And buy him a ring, and its stone should be agate (aqiq)."
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat; its chain contains Muhammad bin Ayyub bin Suwayd, who is extremely da'if (weak).
