It is reported about Sayyiduna Zuhayr bin Abi Alqamah al-Dab'i (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: A man in a shabby state came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked: "Do you have wealth?" He said: "Yes, of every kind." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Then it should be seen upon you, for Allah Almighty loves to see its trace upon His servant in a good state; He does not love misery, nor affecting a miserable state."
Imam al-Tabarani recorded it. He gave Sayyiduna Zuhayr (an entry under his name), and the narrators of this report are thiqat (trustworthy).
