عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ النَّبِيَّ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - يَقُولُ : " مَنْ تَزَوَّجَ امْرَأَةً لِعِزِّهَا لَمْ يَزِدْهُ اللَّهُ إِلَّا ذُلًّا ، وَمَنْ تَزَوَّجَهَا لِمَالِهَا لَمْ يَزِدْهُ إِلَّا فَقْرًا ، وَمِنْ تَزَوَّجَهَا لِحُسْنِهَا لَمْ يَزِدْهُ اللَّهُ إِلَّا دَنَاءَةً ، وَمَنْ تَزَوَّجَ امْرَأَةً لَمْ يَتَزَوَّجَهَا إِلَّا لِيَغُضَّ بَصَرَهُ أَوْ لِيُحْصِنَ فَرْجَهُ أَوْ لِيَصِلَ رَحِمَهُ ؛ بَارَكَ اللَّهُ لَهُ فِيهَا وَبَارَكَ لَهَا فِيهِ " .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْأَوْسَطِ ، وَفِيهِ عَبْدُ السَّلَامِ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْقُدُّوسِ بْنِ حَبِيبٍ ، وَهُوَ ضَعِيفٌ .

Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "Whoever marries a woman because of her high standing, Allah Almighty will increase that person in humiliation; whoever marries a woman because of her wealth, Allah Almighty will increase that person in poverty; whoever marries a woman because of her beauty, Allah Almighty will make him lowly; and whoever marries a woman and his only aim is to keep his gaze lowered, or to guard his private parts, or to maintain the ties of kinship, Allah Almighty will grant that man blessing in the woman and grant the woman blessing in that man."
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat; its chain contains a narrator, Abd al-Salam bin Abd al-Quddus bin Habib, who is da'if (weak).
