Majma al-Zawaid — Hadith 6974

Masruq narrates: Sayyiduna Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) came with an udder and began eating from it. He said to those present: "Come forward." So the people came forward, but one man among them drew back. Sayyiduna Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "What is the matter with you?" He replied: "I have made the udder unlawful for myself." Sayyiduna Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "This is one of the whisperings of Satan. Come forward, eat, and make expiation for your oath." Then he recited this verse: "O you who believe, do not make unlawful the good things that Allah Almighty has made lawful for you."
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir, and its narrators are the narrators of the Sahih.
