Sayyiduna Dhu'ayb (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: A delegation of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) passed by Umm Zabib, and they took her mat. Sayyiduna Zabib (may Allah be pleased with him) rode to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: "O Messenger of Allah! The delegation has taken my mother's mat." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Return his mother's mat to him." Then from the man who had taken his mother's mat were taken a sa' of barley, his sword and his belt. Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) raised his blessed hand, passed it over the head of Sayyiduna Zabib (may Allah be pleased with him) and said: "O boy! May Allah Almighty bless you, and may He bless your mother through you." Musa bin Harun says: "Zarbiyyah" means a mat; it is heavier than a "raylukah". Allah Almighty has said: "And carpets spread out." That is, laid out. (Allamah al-Haythami says:) I say:
Abu Dawud recorded this report from Sayyiduna Zabib (may Allah be pleased with him), and
this report is narrated by Dhu'ayb; the author of "al-Atraf" has explained this.
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir and al-Mu'jam al-Awsat; its chain contains a group of narrators whom I do not know.
