Majma al-Zawaid — Hadith 6498

Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id al-Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: Salaf (advance sale) is not valid in fasih, barley and sult until they are separated (from the husk), nor is it valid in grapes, olives and similar things until they become sweet; nor is a credit transaction of gold in exchange for silver, or of silver in exchange for gold, valid.
Ahmad recorded it as a mawquf narration; its chain contains a narrator Ibn Lahi'ah, whose hadith is hasan (good), though he has been criticised.
