Majma al-Zawaid — Hadith 6493

In one narration the words are: "Whenever the star rises in the morning while a blight is about to befall a people, it is lifted, or it dries up." Ahmad and al-Bazzar recorded all these narrations, and al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Saghir, and his words are: "When the star rises high, blight is lifted from every town." He recorded the first narration in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat in a similar form; its chain contains a narrator Isl bin Sufyan, whom Ibn Hibban declared trustworthy, and he says: He makes mistakes and narrates contrary to others. A group declared him da'if (weak), and the rest of its narrators are the narrators of the Sahih.
