Sayyiduna Simawayh (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: I came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and heard this from his own mouth with my own ears. We carried wheat from al-Balqa' to Madinah and sold it, and we intended to buy dates from Madinah, but people prevented us. We came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and told him about it, and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to those who had prevented us: "Is it not enough for you that this foodstuff is cheap in exchange for the dearness of these dates that you will carry away? Leave them be! They may carry it." The narrator Simawayh was a Christian deacon from al-Balqa'; then he accepted Islam, and his Islam was excellent, and he lived to the age of one hundred and twenty years.
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir; its chain contains a group of narrators, and I have not found anyone who has written their biographies.
