Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: A woman was grazing the goats of the family of Ka'b bin Malik near the mountain of Sal'. She feared that one of the goats was about to die, so she slaughtered it with a stone. This was mentioned to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and he ordered them to eat its meat.
Ahmad and al-Bazzar recorded it, and al-Tabarani in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat, but he recorded it with these words: It is reported from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that Sayyiduna Ka'b bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) asked the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) about a slave girl who had slaughtered an animal with a sharp sliver of reed, and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Eat it." The narrators of Ahmad and al-Bazzar are the narrators of the Sahih.
