وَعَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ - يَعْنِي ابْنَ مَسْعُودٍ - عَنِ النَّبِيِّ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - قَالَ : " الْبَقَرَةُ عَنْ سَبْعَةٍ ، وَالْجَزُورُ عَنْ سَبْعَةٍ فِي الْأَضَاحِيِّ " .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الثَّلَاثَةِ ، وَفِيهِ حَفْصُ بْنُ جُمَيْعٍ ، وَهُوَ ضَعِيفٌ .

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates this saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "In sacrifice, a cow (is offered) on behalf of seven persons, and a camel on behalf of seven persons."
Tabarani recorded it in all three of his books (al-Mu'jam al-Kabir, al-Awsat and al-Saghir); its chain contains a narrator, Hafs bin Jumay', who is da'if (weak).
