Sayyiduna Abu Usayd al-Sa'idi (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: I was present with the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) at the grave (that is, the body) of Sayyiduna Hamzah bin Abd al-Muttalib (may Allah be pleased with him). The people would pull the sheet over his face and his feet would become uncovered; they would pull the sheet over his feet and his face would become uncovered. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Put this sheet over his face and place (the leaves of) this tree over his feet." The narrator says: Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) raised his head, and his Companions were weeping. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "A time will come upon the people when they will go out to fertile regions and there they will find food, clothing and mounts (the narrator is in doubt about one word here). Then they will write to their families: 'Come to us, for the land of the Hijaz is a land of drought,' although Madinah will be better for them, if only they knew."
Imam al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir, and its chain is hasan (good).
