Majma al-Zawaid — Hadith 5572

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) states: When the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) reached Muhassir, he would urge his mount on, and he would say: "You must pick up pebbles small enough to be held between the fingers."
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat; its chain contains Ibn Lahi'ah, who is hasan al-hadith (fair in hadith).
