Majma al-Zawaid — Hadith 5299

Khalid bin Ma'dan has transmitted from his father this saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "Indeed, Allah Almighty is gentle; He loves gentleness and is pleased with it, and He grants for it help that He does not grant for harshness. When you ride these dumb animals, let them stop at their halting places; and if the land is in drought, pass through it quickly. At night the earth is folded up in a way it is not folded up by day. And you must avoid halting on the road at night, for that place is the path of animals and the shelter of snakes."
Al-Tabarani recorded it, and its narrators are the narrators of the Sahih.
