بَابٌ يُقَالُ لَهُ : الرَّيَّانُ لَا يَدْخُلُهُ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ إِلَّا الصَّائِمُونَ " .

Majma al-Zawaid 5077 — The virtue of fasting
وَعَنْ جَابِرٍ عَنْ نَبِيِّ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " قَالَ اللَّهُ : الصِّيَامُ جُنَّةٌ يَسْتَجِنُّ بِهَا الْعَبْدُ مِنَ النَّارِ هُوَ لِي وَأَنَا أَجْزِي بِهِ " .
رَوَاهُ أَحْمَدُ ، وَإِسْنَادُهُ حَسَنٌ .

Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) reports that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Allah Almighty says: Fasting is a shield by which the servant protects himself from Hell. It is for Me, and I shall reward it."
Ahmad recorded it, and its chain is hasan (good).
