وَعَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ : أَقْبَلَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مُسْرِعًا وَنَحْنُ قُعُودٌ فَأَفْزَعْنَا سُرْعَتَهُ فَلَمَّا انْتَهَى إِلَيْنَا سَلَّمَ ثُمَّ قَالَ : " لَقَدْ أَقْبَلْتُ إِلَيْكُمْ لِأُخْبِرَكُمْ بِلَيْلَةِ الْقَدْرِ فَنَسِيتُهَا فِيمَا بَيْنِي وَبَيْنَكُمْ " . فَذَكَرَ الْحَدِيثَ .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْكَبِيرِ ، وَفِيهِ [ قَابُوسُ بْنُ أَبِي ظَبْيَانَ وَفِيهِ ] كَلَامٌ ، وَقَدْ وُثِّقَ .

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) came walking quickly while we were sitting. His haste alarmed us. When he reached us, he greeted us with salam, then he said: "I came to you to tell you about Laylat al-Qadr, but I forgot it by the time I reached you." After this the narrator mentioned the complete hadith.
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir. Its chain contains Qabus bin Abi Zabyan; there is criticism of him, and he has also been declared trustworthy.
