Sayyiduna Abu Mas'ud al-Ghifari (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say, at a time when the crescent of Ramadan had been sighted (the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said): "If the servants knew what (reward, merit and blessings) is attained in the month of Ramadan, the servants would wish that the whole year were Ramadan." A man from the tribe of Khuza'ah said: O Messenger of Allah! Tell us. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Indeed, Paradise is adorned for the month of Ramadan from the beginning of the year until the beginning of the next year, until, when the first night (of Ramadan) comes, a wind blows from beneath the Throne, which makes the leaves of Paradise begin to move. The Hur al-'In (wide-eyed maidens of Paradise) look at them and say: O our Lord! In this month appoint for us husbands from among Your servants such that our eyes are cooled through them and their eyes are cooled through us. (The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) says:) Every servant who fasts the month of Ramadan, Allah Almighty marries him, for every day, to a wife who is from among the Hur al-'In, and she lives in a tent made of a hollow pearl, whose description Allah Almighty has given thus: 'They are the Hur al-'In, secluded in pavilions.' Each of these women wears seventy robes, each robe differing in colour from the other; and this woman has been given seventy different kinds of fragrance, each differing in scent from the other. Each of these women is on a couch made of ruby, which is adorned with precious stones, and on it there are seventy beds whose linings are of brocade (istabraq), and on those seventy beds there are seventy cushions. Each of these women has seventy servants assigned to serve her, and seventy assigned to serve her husband. Each of these servants has a bowl made of gold, containing a different kind of food; a person finds in its last morsel the same delight as in its first. Her husband will likewise be given a couch made of red ruby, and he will be adorned with bracelets made of gold, decorated with red ruby. This happens for every day of the month of Ramadan on which the person fasted; the reward of the other good deeds he has done is separate."
Imam al-Tabarani recorded this narration in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir. Its chain contains a narrator, al-Hayyaj bin Bistam, and he is da'if (weak).
