بَابٌ فِيمَنْ أَدْرَكَ شَهْرَ رَمَضَانَ فَلَمْ يَصُمْهُ .

عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - : " مَنْ أَدْرَكَ رَمَضَانَ وَلَمْ يَصُمْهُ فَقَدْ شَقِيَ ، وَمَنْ أَدْرَكَ وَالِدَيْهِ أَوْ أَحَدَهُمَا فَلَمْ يَبَرَّهُ فَقَدْ شَقِيَ ، وَمَنْ ذُكِرْتُ عِنْدَهُ فَلِمَ يُصَلِّ عَلَيَّ فَقَدْ شَقِيَ " .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْأَوْسَطِ ، وَفِيهِ الْفَضْلُ بْنُ مُبَشِّرٍ ، وَفِيهِ كَلَامٌ ، وَقَدْ وَثَّقَهُ ابْنُ حِبَّانَ وَغَيْرُهُ .

Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever reaches the month of Ramadan and does not fast in it is wretched; whoever finds his parents, or one of them, and does not treat them well is wretched; and whoever has me mentioned in his presence and does not send blessings upon me is wretched."
Imam al-Tabarani recorded this narration in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat. Its chain contains a narrator, al-Fadl bin Mubashshir, and he has been criticised. Ibn Hibban and others declared him "thiqah (trustworthy)".
