وَعَنْ رَافِعِ بْنِ مَكِيثٍ - وَكَانَ مِمَّنْ شَهِدَ الْحُدَيْبِيَةَ - أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " حُسْنُ الْمَلَكَةِ نَمَاءٌ ، وَسُوءُ الْخُلُقِ شُؤْمٌ ، وَالْبِرُّ زِيَادَةٌ فِي الْعُمُرِ ، وَالصَّدَقَةُ تَقِي مِيتَةَ السُّوءِ " .
قُلْتُ : رَوَى أَبُو دَاوُدَ مِنْهُ : " حُسْنُ الْمَلَكَةِ نَمَاءٌ ، وَسُوءُ الْخُلُقِ شُؤْمٌ " . فَقَطْ .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْكَبِيرِ ، وَفِيهِ رَجُلٌ لَمْ يُسَمَّ .
قُلْتُ : رَوَى أَبُو دَاوُدَ مِنْهُ : " حُسْنُ الْمَلَكَةِ نَمَاءٌ ، وَسُوءُ الْخُلُقِ شُؤْمٌ " . فَقَطْ .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْكَبِيرِ ، وَفِيهِ رَجُلٌ لَمْ يُسَمَّ .
Sayyiduna Rafi' bin Makith (may Allah be pleased with him), who was one of those who had the honour of being present at Hudaybiyah, relates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Treating well those under one's ownership is a cause of increase, bad character is a cause of ill omen, righteousness adds to one's lifespan, and charity protects from an evil death." (Allamah al-Haythami says:) I say: Imam Abu Dawud has recorded these words from it: "Treating well those under one's ownership is a cause of increase, and bad character is a cause of ill omen."
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir. Its chain contains a narrator who has not been named.
