Book of Faith
بَابُ تُحْشَرُ كُلُّ نَفْسٍ عَلَى هَوَاهَا .
Every soul will be gathered according to its desire

عَنْ جَابِرٍ قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " كُلُّ نَفْسٍ تُحْشَرُ عَلَى هَوَاهَا ، فَمَنْ هَوِيَ الْكُفْرَ فَهُوَ مَعَ الْكَفَرَةِ وَلَا يَنْفَعُهُ عَمَلُهُ شَيْئًا " .
قُلْتُ : لَهُ فِي الصَّحِيحِ : " يُبْعَثُ كُلُّ عَبْدٍ عَلَى مَا مَاتَ عَلَيْهِ " فَقَطْ .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْأَوْسَطِ ، وَفِيهِ ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ ، وَهُوَ ضَعِيفٌ .
قُلْتُ : لَهُ فِي الصَّحِيحِ : " يُبْعَثُ كُلُّ عَبْدٍ عَلَى مَا مَاتَ عَلَيْهِ " فَقَطْ .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْأَوْسَطِ ، وَفِيهِ ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ ، وَهُوَ ضَعِيفٌ .
Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "(On the Day of Resurrection) every person will be raised according to his desire. Whoever's desire is disbelief will be with the disbelievers, and whatever deeds he did (outwardly in the world, like the Muslims) will not benefit him at all." (Allamah al-Haythami says:) I say: From Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him), only these words are reported in the Sahih: "Every person will be raised according to that (belief) upon which he died."
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat; its chain contains Ibn Lahi'ah, and he is da'if (weak).
