بَابٌ فِي الطَّاعُونِ وَالثَّابِتِ فِيهِ وَالْفَارِّ مِنْهُ .

وَعَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - يَقُولُ فِي الطَّاعُونِ : " الْفَارُّ مِنْهُ كَالْفَارِّ مِنَ الزَّحْفِ ، وَمَنْ صَبْرَ فِيهِ كَانَ لَهُ أَجْرُ شَهِيدٍ " .
رَوَاهُ أَحْمَدُ وَالْبَزَّارُ وَالْطَبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْأَوْسَطِ ، وَرِجَالُ أَحْمَدَ ثِقَاتٌ .

Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say about the plague: "The one who flees from it will be like one who flees from the battlefield, and whoever is patient in it will have the reward of a martyr."
Ahmad, al-Bazzar and al-Tabarani in al-Awsat recorded it. The narrators of Ahmad are thiqat (trustworthy).
