عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " إِنَّ النَّمِيمَةَ وَالْحِقْدَ فِي النَّارِ لَا يَجْتَمِعَانِ فِي قَلْبِ مُسْلِمٍ " .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْأَوْسَطِ ، وَفِيهِ عُفَيْرُ بْنُ مَعْدَانَ ، أَجْمَعُوا عَلَى ضَعْفِهِ .

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Tale-bearing and rancour will be in Hell; the two will not be combined in the heart of a Muslim."
Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat; its chain contains a narrator, Ufayr bin Ma'dan, on whose weakness (the hadith scholars) are agreed.
