Sayyiduna Abdullah bin al-Zubayr (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: When the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) had offered the Isha prayer, he would afterwards pray four rak'ahs and perform one witr; he would offer this after his night prayer.
Ahmad and al-Tabarani in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir recorded it. Its chain contains a narrator, Nafi' bin Thabit (Nafi''s father is Thabit), and Thabit is the son of Sayyiduna Abdullah bin al-Zubayr (may Allah be pleased with them both); Ibn Hibban mentioned him in the book "al-Thiqat". Nafi' did not hear from his grandfather Sayyiduna Abdullah bin al-Zubayr (may Allah be pleased with them both), nor did he live in his time; he narrated from his father Thabit.
