Majma al-Zawaid 3552 — Praying abundantly
وَلِابْنِ مَسْعُودٍ عِنْدَهُ أَيْضًا : مَثَلُ الَّذِي يُدِيمُ الصَّلَاةَ مَثَلُ الَّذِي يَقْرَعُ الْبَابَ وَمِنْ يُدِيمُ قَرْعَ الْبَابِ يُوشِكُ أَنْ يُفْتَحَ لَهُ .
Imam al-Tabarani also recorded this narration on the authority of Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him): "The example of one who regularly performs (voluntary) prayer is like that of a person who keeps knocking at a door; whoever keeps knocking regularly, that (door) is opened for him."
