Sayyiduna Abu Umamah (may Allah be pleased with him) says: A man from the Ansar came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and at that time Sayyiduna Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) and Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) were with the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). That man said: "So-and-so cultivated a crop, and he has been blessed with a double yield," or words to that effect. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "What is that? Two short rak'ahs are better for you than all of these things that belong to this world and whatever is upon it. And if you were to do everything you have been commanded to do, (here the printed edition of al-Tabarani's Mu'jam has the words 'ghayra'a zur'an wa la ashqiya') you would eat fully without being wretched (that is, you would be granted abundant provision)."
This narration was recorded by Imam al-Tabarani in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir; its chain contains a narrator, Ubaydullah bin Zahr, and a narrator, Ali bin Yazid, and both of them are da'if (weak).
