Ziyad bin Abi Ziyad, the freed slave (mawla) of Banu Makhzum, reports from a servant of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), whether a man or a woman, who said: the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would ask the servant: "Do you need anything?" Then one day the servant said: "O Messenger of Allah! I do have a need." the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked: "What is your need?" The servant said: "My need is that you intercede for me on the Day of Resurrection." the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked: "Who guided you to this?" The servant replied: "My Lord." the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Very well, but help me (in this) by performing many prostrations."
Ahmad recorded it, and its narrators are the narrators of the Sahih.
