Majma al-Zawaid — Hadith 3451

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: Once I stayed overnight at the house of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). When the first dawn appeared, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) got up and performed nine rak'ahs of witr, saying the salam after every two rak'ahs.
Imam al-Tabarani recorded this narration in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir; its chain contains a narrator, Abbad bin Mansur, about whom criticism has been made.
